Now that we’re officially in the fall season, we thought we’d give you a few tips on how to enjoy yourself at Midwest Outdoor Resortsthis autumn! Although camping slows down this time of year, there are plenty of fun activities and festivals to relish while you’re in the outdoors. Let’s take a look at 5 ways to relax at MOR this fall!


  1. Camping

If you’ve never been camping in the fall, you’re missing out. There’s nothing like waking up to a hot cup of coffee on a brisk fall morning or lounging around a crackling campfire on a cool autumn night. When you take a trip in the fall, you’ll beat the summertime crowds and generally have empty campsites.   1. Fishing

All of MOR’s resorts have splendid fishing nearby. The Soo Line Trail Campgroundis right next to Lake Mille Lacs, Hidden Bluffshas some of the best trout streams in the Midwest, Rushmore Shadowsis right in the middle of fantastic Black Hills fishing, St. Croix Resortis right by the St. Croix Riverand Ham Lakehas its own fishing dock! Ask any angler and they’ll tell you dusk is a great time for fall fishing.

Hiking in autumn is beautiful. You get to see all the fantastic fall colors, the crowds have dispersed and you won’t have to deal with the summer heat. Peak summits’ vistas are gorgeous in autumn, and if you like to take your dog(s) hiking, they’ll also enjoy the cooler temperatures.
