Is there anything better than Fall in MN?

Reasons Why September is our favorite Month of the Year in MN

We often say September is the best month in Minnesota, for various reasons. This week, we’re going to show you why you should travel north this fall season. Visit us at MidwestOutdoorResorts.com and check out all of our Minnesota resorts, Including Ham Lake, St. Croix River, Soo Line and Hidden Bluffs. Each resort offers all the amenities and comfort you and your family need to have an awesome autumn vacation. Here’s why we love September in Minnesota:

1. The Weather

Let’s face it, when beautiful weather comes to mind you’re probably not thinking about Minnesota. It’s cold in the winter and humid in the summer, but September is the perfect time of year. The mosquitos have started to filter out, and the average high is 72 degrees. The window is short ladies and gentlemen, so take advantage of it!

2. The Apples

Minnesota is the home state of the best apple known to humanity, the Honeycrisp. Apple orchards abound throughout the state, and you can pick your own juicy fruit right off the trees. You can also stock up on gourds and pumpkins this time of year.

3. The Colors

In early September, the leaves start changing in the northern part of the state, then work their way down through mid-October. Minnesota offers some of the prettiest drives for fall colors in the country. Plan your trip by signing up for fall color updates here.

4. The Sports

In September, the Twins, Vikings, Minnesota United and Minnesota Golden Gophers are all playing around the Twin Cities. Even if you’re not a fan of those teams (or a sports fan in general), there’s not a better time to sit outdoors and enjoy a cold beverage while surrounded by thousands of fans. The atmosphere is electric in the Cities when a game is going on.

5. The Corn Mazes

It’s a right of passage for Minnesotans to hit a corn maze or two in the fall. They’re fun for kids and adults, and some offer other fun activities like obstacle courses and pony rides. If you’re up for a little scare, some mazes offer night exploring, where you bring a flashlight. Trust us, corn mazes are fun.

6. The Camping

Last but not least right? The weather and lack of bugs we talked about earlier gives us awesome camping experiences throughout the state.  From our resorts you can hike, bike and fish at all the great destinations Minnesota offers. Like we said, the window for awesome Minnesota weather is small, so get outside and take advantage!

As always, visit us at MidwestOutdoorResorts.com or call (800) 231-0425 and we’ll be happy to help plan your fantastic fall vacation. Happy exploring!
